Animal Care Technician
An Animal Care Technician (ACT) has the primary responsibility of ensuring the comfort, cleanliness, and enjoyment of our boarding guests through compassionate animal handling, feeding, watering, exercising, and maintaining a clean boarding environment. ACT’s are expected to monitor, observe, and record behavioral changes that would indicate illness or injury. They maintain the facility at an exceptionally clean, sanitary level, and assist in whatever else is necessary to ensure that all goes well during the day. ACT’s are also responsible to share in the weekend and holiday duties for our boarded guests.
Another major role for ACT’s is to assist both Veterinarians and the Customer Service Technicians with the care of hospitalized patients, all client needs, as well as the cleaning and sanitizing of the animal hospital. Furthermore, Animal Care Technicians are expected to continuously build their commitment to the love and care of animals as well as the humans who adore them. ACT’s realize that client education opportunities are maximized by effective communication skills, the highest level of integrity, and supportive teamwork.
