Customer Service Technician
Customer Service Technicians (CST) have a strong desire towards customer service, a desire and commitment to educate our clients on how they can best care for their beloved family members, and a passionate pursuit for medical excellence. CareFirst employs these outstanding individuals who have the primary responsibility for ensuring that clients and patients receive excellent care and services in a timely manner through teamwork and friendly interactions. CST’s must be able to make a good first impression, help coordinate patient/client flow, take initiative, and communicate appropriate information in both written and verbal forms. Phone skills include professional courtesy, scheduling to maximize efficiency, appointment confirmations, and patient flow.
CST’s will also obtain diagnostic samples, fill prescriptions, use a microscope for screening, assist in surgical preparation and patient recovery, attend to hospitalized patients, perform basic wound care and dental prophylaxis. CST’s will also provide client education about disease and preventative care, basic animal training, complete thorough charting, record keeping, and financial transactions. They also must obtain a thorough medical history, interact with clients in a compassionate and professional manner, and do what is necessary to ensure that all goes well during the day.
A good CST will ensure the comfort and care of our medical patients boarding guests through compassionate animal handling, feeding, watering, exercising, and maintaining a clean environment. CST’s are expected to monitor, observe, and record behavioral changes that would indicate illness or injury. They maintain the facility at an exceptionally clean, sanitary level, and assist in whatever else is necessary to ensure that all goes well during the day.
By passionately pursuing constant and never ending growth, a CST can perfect their technical skills in the exam room, treatment, dentistry, radiology, and surgery, which enable them to continuously build their commitment to the love and care of animals.
