About Dr. Ford

Known as the Veterinarian Encyclopedia of our veterinarian family, Dr. Michelle Ford effortlessly recalls volumes of information that usually has to be looked up. Immensely intelligent, we often wonder if she has a photographic memory or something.

Dr. Ford attended M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I State University for both undergraduate school and veterinary school, and is passionate about Ophthalmology, Behavior Medicine, Soft Tissue Surgery and Oncology. Although she probably already has the information memorized, some of her favorite references include:

Additional links she finds helpful include:

Dr. Ford has a standard poodle named Bayou. Her hobbies include reading, coloring, crafting and target shooting. Now we understand where her daughter gets her Hunger Games persona from! And something you may not expect – Dr. Ford LOVES Southeastern Conference Football, so if you have some tickets that need placing, you know who to call.

Dr. Ford decided to become a veterinarian when she was 15 years old and worked in the kennel of her local veterinary hospital. At the time, she was debating veterinary medicine or equestrian science. She loved the medicine so much, she decided that veterinary medicine would be so much more exciting and rewarding! We sure are glad she did!
