April 2011 – What it means to Care First

Care First Animal Hospital is proud to be a main co-sponsor for the 2011 SPCA Dog walk for the second year in a row!

This dog walk is a major fundraising opportunity for the Wake County SPCA, and we would like to encourage you to participate. The event starts at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 16th, 2011. The walk starts at 11:00am, and the fun continues until 2:00pm. It will be held at Moore Square, downtown Raleigh, across from City Market. You can pre-register on the day of the walk from 9:00 am until 10:45am. The 3K walk starts at 11:00, the 1/2 K Senior Walk at 11:15, and live music beings at 11:30am on the main stage!

Is your dog a major howler? Do you and your dog look alike? Does your dog have a ton of spots, very long ears, or is just enormous? These are just a few of the contests that will be starting at 12:15pm on the main stage. At 1:00 more music will begin, and remember to grab lunch from a vendor in the park! At 2:00 the park festivities end, but you can visit participating restaurants and businesses of Dog-friendly downtown or stroll to Bicentennial Plaza for Earth Day celebrations.

In 2010 the SPCA of Wake County became a 100% no-kill Organization, and they are saving more animals than ever before. Care First Animal Hospital  is proud to partner with the SPCA of Wake County, and we would like to encourage you to just give pets a chance!
