Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Ashley Peterson is an associate veterinarian at Care First Animal Hospital at Tryon. She graduated from Duke University in 1990 and pursued her veterinary education at NCSU vet school, completing her studies in 1994. Dr. Peterson takes pride in her academic achievements, including being a member of Phi Beta Kappa at Duke and Phi Zeta at NCSU. These recognitions underscore her commitment to excellence in veterinary care.
Dr. Peterson's journey in the veterinary field commenced with a profound passion for animals and science. During her college years, she worked for a veterinarian, delving into the world of veterinary medicine. This experience solidified her decision to become a veterinarian. In 1999, Dr. Peterson moved to Cary, and has been an integral part of the Care First Animal Hospital at Tryon ever since.
Beyond the veterinary realm, Dr. Peterson's interests encompass hiking, scrapbooking, reading, traveling, and enthusiastically supporting her kids at their sporting events. What truly fulfills her in her profession is collaborating with pet owners to devise optimal plans for their animals, ensuring they lead the highest quality of life possible.
One of the aspects she cherishes most about her job is the daily variety of cases encountered. Working as a team with fellow veterinarians to solve challenging cases is both stimulating and rewarding. Building long-term relationships with pets and their owners is a highlight, and she thoroughly enjoys the diverse interactions with different animals.
