Dr. Bethany Moats
DVM

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Moats embarked on her career by gaining valuable experience through internships with various wildlife and animal conservation organizations. Simultaneously, she began working as a pet sitter and then as a veterinary assistant, where she had the privilege of learning from the experienced veterinarians at Care First. After graduating from vet school, she dedicated her skills to a wellness clinic in a low-income area before rejoining Care First as a doctor in 2022.

The choice to enter the veterinary profession was fueled by Dr. Moats' love for science and the gratification of putting it into practical use. To her, medicine represents the ultimate fusion of practical science.

Her favorite aspect of the job lies in the intricate narratives of medical stories. Every case is like working through a jigsaw puzzle with no guide. Dr. Moats compares the process to assembling the puzzle's edges to understand the overall shape, then gradually piecing together the details. She finds immense joy in the teamwork required, where each member contributes unique perspectives – some seeing colors and others seeing shapes – resulting in a faster and more comprehensive puzzle completion.

Outside the veterinary realm, Dr. Moats is an avid reader, devouring over 100 books annually. Her bedroom proudly houses a collection of 700+ books, reflecting her deep passion for literature.

A graduate of North Carolina State University (NCSU), Dr. Moats pursued a Tracked Public Health course of study from 2015 to 2019, earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree. With her commitment to practical science and love for solving intricate medical puzzles, Dr. Bethany Moats continues to be an integral part of Care First Animal Hospital.
