Same Day Sick Pet Care by Your Regular Veterinarian
To ensure your pet is seen in a timely manner, Care First Animal Hospital leaves one appointment per hour per doctor open until that day so that not IF your pet is sick, but rather WHEN your pet is sick, there is time reserved for them by your regular veterinarian Monday through Friday, 7:30am – 5:30pm and Saturday 8:00am to noon.
24/7 Emergency Pet Care
If you have an emergency outside the regular Care First Animal Hospital doctors’ hours (M-F 7:30am – 5:30pm, Sat. 8:00am – noon), we confidently recommend contacting Animal Emergency Hospital and Urgent Care near Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh, where your pet will receive high-quality care and immediate after-hours attention.
Animal Emergency Hospital and Urgent Care is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. If your pet is experiencing a life-threatening problem that arises outside of Care First Animal Hospital’s regular business hours, don’t hesitate to call Animal Emergency Hospital and Urgent Care at (919) 781-5145. The hospital recommends that you call ahead of time to make sure the veterinarians are prepared for your visit. Pets are seen on a first-come, first-serve basis, and critical cases are given priority.
What is an Emergency?
In an emergency, every second counts. Here are a few situations where you should seek immediate medical attention for your pet:
- Trauma-related injuries (hit by car, lacerations, bites, etc.)
- Bleeding from the eyes, nose or mouth
- Signs of extreme pain or disorientation
- Unconsciousness or abnormal heartbeat
- Vomiting or diarrhea for over 24 hours
- Delivery of puppy or kitten complications
