peace Before, Daisy

To date we have rescued almost 3,000 deserving dogs. We could not accomplish our mission without the unwavering support from over 300 dedicated volunteers and a team of our dedicated Care First Animal Hospital veterinarians, and other behaviorists and trainers who give from their hearts to save our dogs’ lives.

An example of the work we do involves Peace. Peace had been living on her own for a long time and had taken up residence outside of a fast food restaurant, asking for food from kind people who were willing to share with a starving dog. The employees of the restaurant fed her as they could, but nobody wanted to touch her or take her some place safe because of her condition. Peace had one of the worst cases of skin fungus, bacteria, and fur loss that we had seen in a long time.  She was also infected with worms of all sorts, including heartworms, and had ear infections so severe that her canals were almost completely shut.

PeaceOver many months of medical treatment, medicated baths, special food, and lots of love and guidance from her foster mom, Peace blossomed and found the loving human touch she craved. Peace is now Maggie and she has been adopted by a wonderful family who will cherish her for the rest of her life. It’s such a happy ending for such a beautiful spirit!

Our mission never ends. Without community support through volunteering time and donating much needed funds, grants, and other fundraising events, we could not continue our quest of helping Golden Retrievers in need.
