Community CareGiver Spotlight: Second Chance Pet Adoptions

As the Triangle’s oldest no-kill animal rescue, Second Chance Pet Adoptions has been living up to its name and providing second chances to cats and dogs since 1989.

Second Chance Pet Adoptions logoSecond Chance’s mission is to rescue abandoned or stray cats and dogs, provide excellent care, and match each animal with the best home for its needs in order to ensure a long lifetime of safety, love and companionship.

One of our priorities at Second Chance is to provide the best possible care for the homeless and abandoned animals in our Adoption Program. At our shelter in Raleigh, many of the cats in our program have found a refuge from the streets and abuse. In the homes of volunteer fosters, many more cats, dogs, kittens, and puppies, enjoy temporary companionship while waiting for a forever home of their own.

Our dedicated team of volunteers ensures the animals with Second Chance receive the best possible care.

These volunteers can be found at the shelter every day providing food and water, scooping litter, and spending quality time with the pets. Volunteering with Second Chance is a rich and rewarding opportunity to meet new people, give love to animals in need, and have diverse and enriching experiences.

Second Chance Pet Adoptions is a federally-recognized non-profit organization. Because we do not receive funding from government sources, we rely completely on the generous contributions of our donors and supporters to provide care and compassion for the animals in our program. We have several wonderful events throughout the year that allow the community to learn more about Second Chance and provide financial support for the pets.
