5 Holiday Gift Ideas For Your Pet

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! At Care First Animal Hospital, the holiday season is absolutely magical. The time we get to spend with our friends and family—furry and not so furry—is what makes it so special. As we share memories, enjoy food, and exchange gifts, we never forget about our pets! We’re going to share our top five favorite cat and dog Christmas gift ideas that will leave your pets hopping with holiday cheer.

5.) Etsy Personalized Dog Bandana

You’ve probably seen or heard about personalized gifts for humans, but what about for our furry friends? Etsy is a great place to shop for personalized gifts for your pets. For this pick, we found a customizable dog bandana. This cute flannel bandana gives you the option to have your pup’s name stitched on it. Plus, you can choose between a modern font or cursive!

4.) Doc & Phoebe’s Indoor Hunting Cat Feeder

Doc & Phoebe’s Cat Co. is focused on providing a solution for healthy cat feeding. Designed by veterinarians, the indoor hunting cat feeder is a great Christmas gift for cats! The kit comes with three mice that have compartments for food. The hunting feeder promotes natural feeding  habits. You hide the mice around the house and throughout the day, your kitty cat will find her food when she needs it. This healthy feeding alternative promotes good behavior, normal weight, and exercise. It’s the purr-fect gift!

3.) Outward Hound Dog Puzzle

Outward Hound is a great brand focused on providing toys for our four-legged friends. One of our favorite dog toys is the Dog Hide n’ Slide puzzle game. This dog puzzle comes in four difficulty levels: easy, intermediate, advanced, and expert. You can hide treats and food in the various compartments to make them work for it!

Interactive puzzle games are a great way to manage hyperactivity in dogs. The puzzle game allows them to utilize their logical thinking and problem solving skills.

2.) FluentPet Talking Buttons

FluentPet is devoted to establishing effective communication between owners and their pets. For this pick, we chose their Talking Buttons starter set. This set includes six easy-to-press talking buttons. The best thing about these buttons is that you can record sounds, letters, or words—whatever you want, really. With additional “hex tiles” that interlock like puzzle pieces, you can arrange the words or sounds in a way that helps your cat remember. Now, you can ask your cat a question and find out what they want. Maybe you can ask them what they want for Christmas next year!

1.) KONG Chew Toys

Our top pick is the classic KONG chew toy. This brand has a ton of chew toy options available for your best friend, but the classic KONG is our top pick. The simplicity, durability, and functionality of this toy is unmatched. Plus, if you have a strong chewer that tears up toys easily, they have an extreme version. The most common way to prepare a KONG is by filling it with peanut butter and freezing it overnight, but we have an even better idea. If you really want to make your dog’s Christmas special, layer the peanut butter with canned dog food or kibble. First, stuff a layer of peanut butter in the large hole. Next, put some dog food in, and continue this process until the toy is full. Throw it in the freezer for the night and surprise your pupper in the morning!
