Did you know that according to AKC statistics, in 2013 Boxers were regarding as the seventh most popular breed of dog in the United States for the fourth consecutive year? These beautiful dogs are playful and energetic, and tend to be good with children. They are active and strong, requiring adequate exercise to prevent boredom. Boxers are a brachycephalic breed, meaning their face is kind of flat with a short nose. This can cause issues with high heat or humidity; it’s best to have walks early in the morning or late in the evening.

Brady with Carolina Boxer RsecueDo you enjoy Boxers and are you interested in working with them more? Carolina Boxer Rescue is always looking for foster homes, volunteers, fundraising helpers, and event helpers. Foster families accept a dog into their home and treat it like one of their own pets. The foster helps to determine if the pet is good with other dogs and cats, how they react around children, and help with training.  Fosters also take the pet in for veterinary visits. Providing this temporary home is a very rewarding experience, and your foster dog will be very grateful!
