The Top Things to do in the Raleigh Area With Your Pet
It’s a beautiful time of year in North Carolina, and everyone wants to get outside – dogs and humans alike! If you’re on the hunt for the best activities to do around the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel-Hill, or Cary areas – we have you covered. Read our below favorites, we can’t wait for you to check them out!
The Raleigh area boasts a multitude of lush, beautiful dog parks where your furry friend can get some energy out and work on socialization. Next time you want to bring your dog on a fun activity, meet up with some friends and their dogs or take a solo trip to one of the amazing parks around us. As always, make sure your pup is up-to-date on all vaccines before heading to the park. Here’s a list of some of our favorites:
The warm Summer months are the perfect time to try out a new nature trail in the Triangle area. With all of our trees and flowers blooming, there is nothing more beautiful! On a pretty day, visit a lake, nature walk or even the Museum of Art for a fun outing. Just make sure to avoid the hours where it is the most hot, check that the pavement isn’t too warm for your pup’s paws and bring some water.
Outdoor Restaurants or Indoor Breweries
Another great way to have fun with your dog and work on their socialization is to bring them to an outdoor restaurant, coffee shop or brewery. It’s great for your pup to have exposure to people they don’t know and it’s a fun activity for you, too. Make sure to always call the restaurant or brewery before you go to make sure they are dog-friendly. Here are some of our favorite spots:
- Station at Person Street
- Crosstown Pub & Grill
- Yellow Dog Bread Company
- Village Draft House
- Lynnwood Brewing Concern
The best activity for one of our famous, extremely hot North Carolina days is to take your pup into a pet store. Let them pick out a fun new toy while enjoying the air conditioning. Even though it’s not exercise, the mental stimulation of being somewhere new will help wear them out.
